I am a Canadian , I had a criminal record before and i got a lawyer to clear my record and i think he did.( i dont know how i can know if i still have criminal record but my lawyer says i have been cleared) . but last time i went to the USA and they had my name in their computer system. and they told me if i want to pass the border, i have to go to RCMP to get a paper that i do not have criminal record. anybody knows what i should do to get rid of my name from USA government ? i want to go there and work :(I am a Canadian , I had a criminal record before and i got a lawyer to clear my record and i think he did?
According to Board of Immigration Appeals decisions, the expungement of a foreign conviction does not clear your record
insofar as US immigration law is concerned. Therefore, you will
likely need a waiver of excludability to enter the US.
