Ok, so about 5 years ago, I was arrested for Possession with intent to deliver of Marijuana. It is a class 3 felony in the state of Nebraska but all of the charges were dismissed. However, it still shows that I was arrested and charged for the crime but that it was dismissed. It has just recently started to effect me in getting jobs, as I am now applying for a lot better jobs because I am older and more qualified. But I have no been hired by two employers now after they performed a background check. This happened when I was 18 years old and it's haunting me today. If anyone has any advice for me, I would appreciate it.How can I get a dismissed charge completely cleared from my record in the state of Nebraska?
You sure can! Since the charges were dismissed and you never pled guilty, you can get an expunction. It is probably the arrest that is still showing up on background searches. You also need to check to make sure an order of dismissal was filed in the matter.....See an attorney, an expunction isn't cheap, but it's darn sure worth it.....How can I get a dismissed charge completely cleared from my record in the state of Nebraska?
The age 18 thing is a problem. Might need a pardon from the Governor. Check with a good lawyer.
