I'm looking for a way to improve the quality of a vocal recording I've done to reduce all of the distortion and such, whilst leaving the speech intact, and hopefully improving it.
Is there any way to make the sound clearer, perhaps by downloading some legal free-to-use shareware or something?
I have a Packard Bell W1801 upgraded laptop, and also a Creative Labs USB SoundBlaster Audigy2 NX, (which I'm having some difficulty with, so I'd be grateful if a method for putting it through to the laptop directly was found).
Any help here would be greatly appreciated, thanks. How Can I Make A Recording Of My Voice Clearer Without The Need For Any New Hardware?
Look out for PC Answers mag, this month has a free give away of Magix Silver. Theres also Audacity, open the file and click Effect - Noise removal. ITs a bit basic but work on a copy of your original file and try a few things to see if theres an improvement.
Try to work on a WAV not an MP3.

i was playing around with that to.. but i found just using anyold microphone on sound recorder work really well.
in the settings oyu can select 'microphone boost' and then i selected 'cd' quality recordings, it uses more memory and you cant record for as long, but i got completey clear playback from it.
Use some free EQ, limiter, compression plug-ins from the net.
download nvidia nvmixer try www.download.com it should be free from there that should help u its really easy to use OK hope that helps you
