Last year a piece of wood fell out a pick up truck on my car and the driver of the pick up truck didn't stop. I had full coverafe but my insurance first didn't wanted to get my car fix cuz they were thinking that I was trying to total my car. but then they got it fixed when i showed 'em proofs. but now this accident is showing on my driving record and my insurence is really high. I'm not with the same insurence company anymore and they said they can't do anything about it. They want me to talk to DMV. What should I tell 'em and how much likely they will be able to do it? I don't wanna pay high insurence cuz of the accident which wasn't my fault. What should I do to clear this accident from my driving record??
It shouldn't be on your motor vehicle report but the claim is showing up on a CLUE report. It is a national database of all claims. When you switch from one company to another they check your CLUE report. The claim will drop off after three years.
If a piece of wood fell out of a truck this is a comprehensive claim not a collision claim. Most companies do not surcharge for a comprehensive claim but they do take them into account. What should I do to clear this accident from my driving record??
If there was no ticket the DMV has nothing to do with it, it's the insurance company. The only way to clear it three years no accidents or tickets.
