I would like to apply to the highway patrol now. I have had a clean record for 12 years.I had one conviction at age 20. It was a felony drug arrest. How do I clear my record now. I am 32.?
Its a felony! No chance. That is going to stay on your record for the rest of your life!I had one conviction at age 20. It was a felony drug arrest. How do I clear my record now. I am 32.?
Well it all depends on your state's policies, some ';eligible'; felonies and misdemeanors can be expunged, there's a process...some take 3months-1yr, and it can costs like 2k-2.5k, and you may need a lawyer. Check with your states laws on expungements and see if you qualify.
Note: A defendant whose record has been expunged is still not permitted to possess a firearm capable of being concealed on his or her person.
But on the other hand...to apply for law enforcement...hmm it may not be enough. Check out this website
Whether you get hired is up to chief of Highway Department. You definately need to clear you mind of criminal intentions. Arrest records remain for ever. Do not try and hid the felony -- now your a lier if ya do...
Try the clerk's office where you were arrested to see if and how to have your record expunged
I would think that you would need to hire an attorney.
I am currently perusing my criminal justice degree. The first question my academic instructor asked me was whether I had any drug or felony charges, since they would make it virtually impossible to get a job in any criminal justice field.
You can petition the court to have your record expunged, but I don't believe you can have a felony removed from your record.
I don't think a felony is ever removed for your record.
YOU CAN NEVER TAKE A FELONY CHARGE AWAY IT'S THERE FOR EVER..SORRY BUDDY
