Im seventeen and was caught shoplifting back in october. im about to turn 18 will my record clear?

It depends on what your were stealing. Could you specify?Im seventeen and was caught shoplifting back in october. im about to turn 18 will my record clear?
no.

why would age have anything to do with it?

you think turning 18 makes you a new mature person?

first of all did you get a criminal record or a store specific record?

i got caught shoplifting when i was 15 at walmart.

i got a ban from entering the mall for 2 years. so it was location specific record. no police came so its wasint a record record.

BUT, they told me that if i were to ever commit a real crime, that the shopplifting inccident would turn into a real record. so ya.... :/ DONT STEAL.!!!

This depends on the state that you live in. Where I am an attorney, your juvy records stays with you forever, but cannot be used against you after 5 years from the date of the arrest. In other words, cops and potential employers will still see it.

Many juvenile records can be sealed, and later expunged, but again, this depends on the state that you live in. This is typically the only way to get something removed from your record. I'd suggest you consult with a local attorney.
Depends on where you live and what happened if/when you went to court. If you were a first time offender they should have given you a conditional sentence, and your record may be wiped clean. Because you are a young offender the record should be sealed and will likely not come up again
Depends on the offense, were you put on the consent calender?

Were you made to do community service?

After all is said and done, if it's a first offense, then it's probably not going to show up, but if it's a second, or something more than $100 dollars you might want to check.
It depends on the judges ruling, and the extent to which the place you shoplifted form wants to pursue charges. And also how much you stole. If you don't even have to go to a hearing you'll probably be good.
Nope, it will still show up. The thing is that since you did the crime when you were 17, you are charged as a minor in that case.
well it should but sometimes it will stay on for a while. Did you do the diversion class after you got caught cause then yes it will be erased for sure.
yes it will... my friend got caught shopliftin he's record got cleared and he was 17 dont worry it wont stand dont shop lift again though good luck
No, you will still have your previous criminal record.
no but now you can go to jail for doing that again
You were probably charged as an adult so no it will not clear.
I hope not because if you were coming to work for me, I would want to know if I could trust you.
What record? I don't think under age children get recorded
nope
dont think so
